The Hohto Hi-Hats represent the intersection of brightness and control — designed in close collaboration with Kai Hahto to deliver the clarity and presence needed for large-scale setups while maintaining musical nuance. These hi-hats shine in both live and studio applications.

Available in 12″ to 16″ sizes, they are crafted in medium-thin weight to deliver fast, articulate response while still carrying enough body to support dynamic range. The traditional finish imbues them with harmonic complexity and musical richness without sacrificing cut.

Tonally, the Hohto hi-hats lean toward the mid-high range, offering sharp stick clarity that slices through thick instrumentation. The “chick” is crisp and responsive — clean in tight work but capable of rich wash when opened. Sustain and overtones are balanced so the hats don’t dominate but still leave a distinct impression in your mix.

In addition, these hi-hats behave well under pressure — open or partially open they maintain musical coherence and control, and closed they deliver tight, sharp articulation.
