Hohto

Created together with drummer Kai Hahto- specifically for Kai’s preferences and for Nightwish music. Kai wanted his cymbals to be bright yet controllable. Ride with nice stick definition and bell to be heard over other instruments. Bright crashes that open up easily, chinas trashy and fast. One of the coolest pieces is the stack made of heavy 10” splash and paper thin 12” effect china. A set that has lots of versatility. Kai has been using - and perfecting - his setup for two years. We could not be happier with the outcome - the setup that lasts a whole career! This time we did not make an embarrassing typo: Hohto is a Finnish word meaning “Shining” which reflects the sound of these cymbals - and is obviously a reference to our Shining Star - Mr. Kai Hahto.
