The HOHTO series was created in collaboration with Nightwish drummer Kai Hahto. Kai wanted his cymbals to be bright yet controllable. The Ride has a good stick response and its bell cuts through other instruments. The crashes are bright and easy to ignite, the chinas are trashy and fast. The stack made of a 10” splash and a paper-thin 12” effect china is really “cool.” In short, the entire set is very versatile.
This set has been in Kai’s live performance use for several years and has been modified and improved to the point where it can be played with for a lifetime.
The HOHTO cymbals are hand-forged in Istanbul from high-quality B20 bronze.
