The Hohto EFX China is where brightness meets trashy edge — designed in collaboration with Kai Hahto to cut through massive mixes while still offering musical control. Built to serve both as a standalone effect cymbal and as a stack component, the Hohto EFX China shines in high-energy live performance as well as in the studio.

Available in 8″ through 22″, these cymbals are crafted in medium-thin weight to deliver fast, explosive response while keeping sustain short and controlled. The brilliant finish enhances brightness and projection, giving each hit a shimmering, trashy attack that feels both aggressive and refined.

Tonally, the Hohto EFX China leans toward the mid-high range, with a sound that opens instantly and decays quickly. The cut is sharp and trashy, but it never veers into uncontrolled harshness — instead, it leaves a quick, defined impression in the mix. Perfect for accents, breakdowns, or building stacks with splashes and effect crashes, the EFX China adds sonic variety without overstaying its welcome.

Like every cymbal in the Hohto series, each piece is hand-hammered in Istanbul from premium B20 bronze, ensuring both the artistry of traditional cymbal-making and the durability needed for modern, high-intensity playing.

Please notice that effect cymbals are very delicate instruments and need to be treated accordingly- either played cautiously or as part of stack cymbal. Cracks starting from “effect holes” will not be refunded under warranty terms. This is common procedure that most (if not all) cymbal manufacturers follow.
