Our story

I will tell you a bit of Sihi cymbals history and how you can order Sihi cymbals. Here’s a bit about the history of Sihi Cymbals. I’ve played with over a thousand different cymbals during my years as a drum store owner, selling new and used cymbals. This gives you some idea of what I expect from cymbals. But, more importantly, I’ve spoken with hundreds of drummers about cymbals: how they should and should not sound, and what’s great about this cymbal and not so great about that cymbal.

Idea for my own cymbal brand

The idea of creating my own cymbals started developing little by little. It kept coming back again and again until I just had to do something about it! Finland does not have a strong tradition in cymbal making; actually, it does not exist.. So, where to go? Where all the iconic cymbals are being made in: Istanbul! After quite a lot of searching and talking with people in the industry, I found it! Perfectly what I was looking for: expert cymbal smiths with tons of experience and a massive passion for this project.

After lots of talking, going back and forth, and several days in a factory and, Sihi cymbals Cymbals were born! All Sihi Cymbals are made from scratch, as traditional, legendary Turkish cymbals are. Cast from high-quality bronze (known as B20), rolled, hammered, milled, finished, polished all by highly professional cymbal smiths. Sound is the main criteria. Cymbal smiths listen to the cymbals, and from there, decide when there has been enough hammering, and milling… So that’s. That’s why there are minor differences in the weights of the cymbals.

So, where does that name “Sihi” come from? Well, it was initially it was a joke and became the working title, and evidently, it stayed. But “Sihi”” comes from the Finnish word”  “sihisee” – sizzles” – in English. It is also a slang word for brewed beverages, “Sihi-juoma.”

We deliver our cymbals in well-packed boxes. Normal delivery times:

Finland: 2–3 business days from ordering
Rest of EU: within 2 weeks from ordering
Cost: Finland €9.90 (free shipping if your purchase total is €200 or more)
Rest of EU €19.90 (free shipping if your purchase total is €300 or more)
Rest of the world: please ask!
